Here I am sitting in my living room planning and preparing for the busy school year that is approaching. As you know, the beginning of the school year for many moms (including myself) can be a bit overwhelming; between school supplies, child care and after school activities… es para volverse loca! (you would go nuts!)

Next to my laptop is sitting a little bag of trail mix; one of my favorite snacks when I am in a rush or working a lot. Inspired by the flavors of my Island, I made this one, with a mix of tropical dried fruits, Honey Bunches of Oats-Honey Roasted cereal, and some nuts. Trail mix are easy to make, they are yummy and they don’t cost a lot– most of the ingredients you probably have at home already!

During back to school time, we spend tons of money on school supplies and getting the kids ready for school; I mean who wants to spend a lot money on expensive snacks too. That’s why today I’m sharing this easy recipe for Tropical Trail Mix made with one of my favorite cereals, Honey Bunches of Oats-Honey Roasted, but you can feel free to use other Post cereals like Fruity Pebbles (which is my daughter’s favorite) or even Great Grains Raisin, Dates and Pecans to name a few.  Post Cereals make great snacks to and from school or at other school activities, sports or when working at home like me.:)

¿Están listos para esta facíl receta? (Are you ready for this easy recipe?)

Here is what you need: Post cereals such as Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted, Great Grains Raisins-Dates and Pecans or Fruity Pebbles, dried pineapples, dried mango, toasted coconut flakes, banana chips, nuts like peanuts or almonds, and raisins. I also added a bit of chocolate.

To make the Trail Mix, combined everything in a big bowl and enjoy! How simple is that?
