What would you do with an extra hour in the Morning? Would you sit at the dining table to enjoy breakfast? Would you read a book or just meditate? I would do all of them. Cause let’s be honest, Who doesn’t want a bit of extra time in the morning to do what they want?
For us moms, each morning is a challenge– we barely have time to get the kids (and us) ready, let alone meditate or sit down to have breakfast. But guess what? I found a solution for the breakfast part, Its call overnight oats and I learned about this easy and delectable morning meal not too long ago…
Lately I have seen many friends and bloggers posting beautiful pictures for overnight oats recipes, and honestly, I was a little skeptical to the idea of trying it, but once I did, I loved it; besides, oats are a whole grain and are packed with nutrients such as fiber and carbohydrates for energy!
Overnight Oats are easy to make, plus, you can prepare breakfast in advance and eat it the next day. The recipe is rather simple, just combine 1/2 cup of Quaker® Oats with 1/2 cup milk, top it with your favorite ingredients, refrigerate overnight and voila!
Today I want to share my favorite Quaker® Overnight Oats recipe: Cinnamon Raisins overnight oats.
For a loose consistency I added 3/4 cup of milk instead of 1/2 cup.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Quaker® Oats
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of raisins
Preparation:
In a jar, combine 1/2 cup Quaker® Oats with 3/4 cup of milk. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stir, cover tight and refrigerate overnight. Top with raisins before eating.
Oats are delicious and great for that extra energy in the Morning!
Now, that you have a solution for your breakfast, What else would you do with an extra hour in the Morning?
XO,
Johanny
