“Picadillo de res” (minced beef)

 

Picadillo is a traditional dish, used in many recipes like empanadas, however it can be eaten as a main dish as well. It is made with ground beef, olives, tomato sauce and other ingredients that vary by country.

In Dominican Republic is used as a filling for “Pasteles en Hojas” or for a succulent Pastelón , in Puerto Rico it is used as a filling for the famous Alcapurrias among other fritters.
