Plátanos al caldero (Caramelized sweet Plantains) is a dish from My country, Dominican Republic. It’s prepared with a combination of spices, sugar and butter among other ingredients.
When making this dish, it is better to use plantains fully ripen (I preferred when the skin of the plantain has dark spots), so they will be sweeter and tender to eat. This dish can be eaten as a side dish or dessert.
The combination of these ingredients give such an exquisite taste that it is sure to please even the most delicate palates. (more…)
