My favorites things from the 2017 New York Baby Show

This post for my favorites things from the 2017 New York Baby Show is sponsored by Montrends.

The New York Baby show is the largest show for new and expectant parents. Thousands of families come to the event every year to check what’s new for babies, toddlers and even older children.

We attended the show for the first time and enjoy the blogger lounge thanks to Momtrends. At the lounge we enjoyed  a delicious lunch, plus we mingled with other mommy bloggers and their families. The whole event itself was amazing!

Hailey and I sharing our favorite items

The event, organized by New York Family Magazine, consist of a showcase of different brands such as Canon, Seventh generation™, and evenflo® to name a few. At the Baby Show parents get to have a glimpse of what’s new in the baby world.

Today I want to share with you my favorite 3 items (and my daughter’s) at the New York baby show… Believe me, this was not an easy task!

Stuck On You® Bento Boxes and Mini Back Packs: As soon as I saw these cute back packs and bento boxes (I’m featuring the bento box in the picture above) I fell in love. Known for its personalized labels and accessories, Stuck on You is a great gift for babies and older children. My daughter and I loved the idea of the Bento box, which is perfect to carry all her favorites foods.

Dirty Kids Soap Foam and Gel by Dirty Soap Works:  A paraben-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free and phthalate-free colorful soap perfect for the little ones. Kids ( and adults!) can have fun when washing their hands with dirty soap. The dark looking soap turns into a white cleansing foam when washing your hands…and did I tell you it smell yummy? yes it does!

Mabel’s labels®: Always a favorite. These personalized waterproof labels, are perfect for kids clothing, bottles, lunch boxes and even food storage.

Many other brands were at the show such as The SNOO by the Happiest Baby, The NOOBIE Box, Plums Organics… and My 1st Years which gave my daughter a personalized teddy bear!

Overall, this past weekend my family and I had a great time at the New York Baby Show, and I can’t wait for next year!

XO,

Johanny

The Latin Food and Wine Festival in New Jersey

Thanks to the World of The Latino Cuisine for partnering with Johanny’s Kitchen to promote this event. As always, all opinions are my own.

Blogging has become a way for me to share not only my passion for food, but to share bits and pieces of my life and my Latin culture. In addition, being a food blogger has helped me to connect with so many amazing people in the foodie world. A couple of years ago I heard about “The Latin Food and Wine Festival” for the first time; I always wanted to go but never had the opportunity… Well, not this year!

What’s The Latin Food and Wine Festival?

The festival features samples from the diverse cuisines of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), Latin America, and the Caribbean. You can find all kinds of dishes from paellas to pupusas, to empanadas or mofongo to name a few. Also beverages such as wines, sangrias, rums, pisco, and other sumptuous spirits and libations.

The event will feature musical entertainment and cultural presentations as well. Also, over 40 restaurants will offer their delicious food! The celebrity chefs presenting at the event are headlined by Fernando Desa, Goya’s Executive Chef, and Celebrity Chef Ricardo Cardona, a radio and TV personality who is Marc Anthony’s personal chef; Carolina Arias, an expert on the Cibao Region cuisine of the Dominican Republic, and Eddy Fernádez Monte, Presiden of Cuba’s Culinary Federation who will lecture and prepare dishes of the classical Cuban Cuisine.

“We want to accommodate everyone as this would be the place to be for foodies and lovers of the various Latino Cuisine –Bill Colon, Lead officer of the World of the Latino Cuisine Organization.

The Festival will be on August 23rd at 5:00 pm at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Newark, New Jersey. Tickets can be purchased online at www.latinofoodshow.com, go to “Attendee Registration” and use promo code Johanny1

By the way, there is an Early Bird special, at $40 per person, is being offered until May 31, 2017!

Hope to see you there!

MythBusters and Illusions at Liberty Science Center

My 11 year old daughter is into science; She loves to experiment and lately she has been creating homemade slime. It can be a messy hobby , but I surely want  her to explore and be as creative as possible… even if it takes for me to deal with sticky slime every day.

Next month she will be presenting  a science project at her school, so when we received and invitation from Momtrends to attend and learn about a new exhibition at Liberty Science Center we just couldn’t say no.  This was the perfect opportunity for my mini-me to learn more about science! (more…)
